We enjoyed celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee by taking a trip to Pickering Castle. We did lots of crafts to make our own swords and shields in preparation. Whilst at the castle we explored the ruins of the great castle, listened to the sounds of the birds in the turrets and enjoyed a lovely picnic. We sat and enjoyed a story called ‘In the castle’ (Usborne Books) which we bought whilst we were there, and engaged in old fashioned games.
